Press Release November 18, 2010

I’m musically and lyrically not a fan of death metal, black metal, hardcore, or whatever other terms or words that are used to describe loud and indiscernible music, but from time to time either one comes along that I like, or find a video or song that has meaning or power behind it.

With Cold Snap I found a couple of videos/songs that I wouldn’t mind having in my catalog of music.  Bongo Bong which I found to be fun reminded me of Falco and his song Der Kommissar (but a bit heavier), and Nikada from a previous release.

Not knowing the language didn’t prevent me from liking this song, and the visual that went along with it, to me was pretty powerful.  Although each one of us may walk away with a different sense of what the song was intended to mean.

PRESS RELEASE

A COLD SNAP, in the meteorological sense, is a sudden brief spell of intense cold and drought that often appears in Australia in spring.

COLD SNAP, in the musical sense, is a group of five friends from Croatia who determined their goal – sharing their music, thoughts and views with the whole world.

It all started in spring 2003, the first demo CD “Mea Culpa” was finished in the winter of 2005. Numerous gigs followed, including the performance at Metal Camp in Slovenia in 2006 and the performance at the Ex-Yu Metal Battle in Serbia where COLD SNAP represented Croatia and competed for the opportunity to play at Wacken Open Air festival in 2007. Their first album “Empty Promises” was released in spring 2008.

COLD SNAP‘s desire to progress grew, and in accordance with it, they wanted to make the quality of their new songs as close to perfect as possible.  Because of that COLD SNAP decided to collaborate with Tue Madsen, a superb metal producer (Rob Halford, Sick of it All, Moonspell, Hatesphere) who taught them a great deal, and with the knowledge they gained from him the band developed an even stronger determination to make themselves known.

The band moved on to achieve their goal, with the support of MIG- Music and the MK II record label. The result is the new album “Perfection”, which is a tense masterpiece on an international level that will stand the test of time!
