The Agonist

I had a chance to see The Agonist for the first time about 10 months ago, and I was blown away with Alissa White-Gluz’s vocals.

The obvious is standing in front of you, and you see this beautiful young lady, but the not so obvious is her vocal abilities.  Before I get into that, I have to say that the guys in the band are no slackers either.  Their precision playing and sound it tight.

So, the vocals.  I’m not a fan of the vocal fry method, but White-Gluz has the best sounding vocal fry I’ve heard from male or female.  What amazes me is how effortlessly she can sing those low registers and growl, and then immediately change to a clean singing voice with great tone and resonance.

Do yourself a favor, and at least listen to the band, and I’m pretty sure they’ll win you over if  you just let it happen.
