An overview and unpacking of the ePhoto LED 169A light

Like many people these days, I find myself without a lot of money, but always wanting or needing something.  And when it comes to photography or video, we all know that there’s a lot more want than need!

That’s when I decided to set out to find a reputable reseller with good products, at an affordable price- who did I find you ask- ePhoto!

This time I needed to buy something a bit smaller and more focused to use as a hair light, and the LED 169A was just what I needed to get the job done.  inexpensive, and well constructed, the little (not so little) light was shipped to me in a well padded box.

The first thing I noticed about the light, is its weight.  I figured for the $129 price plus shipping, that it would be less substantial than what it actually was.  The plastic construction of the main body was good.  The hinges that hold the barn-door in place were made of an aluminum or metal of some-sort, and the barn-doors were constructed of metal, which is where most of the weight came from.

The included power cord is about 8′ in length, and the power brick that it plugs into gives you about another 4′.  There is a dimmer dial on the side of the LED light, and it is very smooth to operate.  They also included a couple of additional fuses for the light, which is nice, so I don’t have to go running all over the place looking for a replacement if anything should happen anytime soon.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase, and for the $129 + shipping cost, I think I’m going to get my moneys worth for many years and shoots to come.
