About Christian Mistress:
Olympia, Washington’s traditional heavy metal band, CHRISTIAN MISTRESS, formed in 2007 and released their debut 4 song demo cassette, which quickly attracted the attention and praise of several underground luminaries and lovers of classic metal including infamous illustrator Dennis Dread, Ajna Offensive curator Tyler Davis and outspoken Darkthrone mastermind Gylve “Fenriz” Nagell. A two track 7 inch EP was subsequently released further garnering the band underground accolades across the world while the band’s 2010 debut LP, ‘Agony & Opium’ (released on 20 Buck Spin), received international critical acclaim for its unflinchingly authentic take on American heavy metal.
In 2011, CHRISTIAN MISTRESS signed to Relapse Records and recorded their sophomore album, Possession, with producer Tim Green at Louder Studios (Melvins, Saviours).  The record saw them garner even more universal praise, with such heavy hitters as Metal Hammer calling it “a mark of true rock greatness” and TIme Out NY saying it “reinjects mystery and majesty into a tired style”.  In support of the album the band made an appearance at the esteemed Roadburn Festival in 2012 followed by their first European tour.  Now after a brief hiatus and lineup shift, the band is back and more determined then ever, preparing to record their highly anticipated third full length in May 2014.
Far from being yet another throwback or mere tribute band CHRISTIAN MISTRESS’s music is rooted firmly in the present with a respectable and dignified grasp of retrospect. The band play an organic, precision-crafted style of American Heavy Metal that will set the bar for the modern classic sound that doesn’t simply ride the lightning of past scene glories and aesthetics, but brings new fresh ideas to the genre musically and lyrically. The shredding dual guitar lead trade-offs, performed with the utmost class, never lose sight of memorable songcraft first and foremost. Anchored by a tight, driving rhythm section and the raw and throaty instantly memorable vocal delivery of Christine Davis, theCHRISTIAN MISTRESS sound is immediately familiar and yet sounds like no other heavy metal band currently working.
