New Orleans sludge legends CROWBAR have returned to bring another righteous slab of devastating heaviness to Europe. The band kicked off the tour on Friday, July 6th in Roskilde, Denmark and will visit many major European countries until coming to a close in Paris, France on August 19th. CROWBAR is led by vocalist, guitarist, and mastermind Kirk Windstein (Down, Kingdom of Sorrow). CROWBAR has influenced an entire generation of metal musicians through the sheer force of their massively detuned riffage and the crushing emotional weight of Windstein’s soul-baring lyrics. After not releasing a new studio album for a full six years, CROWBAR unleashed their highly-anticipated full-length, Sever The Wicked Hand, on February 8, 2011 to critical acclaim.
This video was shot in 2011 when Kirk Windstein was on tour with Kingdom Of Sorrow. Behind the menacing and ferociousness of Windstein’s guitar playing and vocals, he’s really a regular good-guy. During this interview, Windstein opened up about his personal life as well as what it is like being on the road. The one thing I have to say is that he really liked to chat and was a real personable guy; the kind of guy you’d call a friend.
