October 29, 2012 (Los Angeles, CA) – It’s been over a year since NEW YEARS DAY released The Mechanical Heart EP and since then, fans have been dying to hear recorded versions of the new songs they’ve been hearing live. NEW YEARS DAY has teamed up with ABSOLUTEPUNK.NET to make some of those wishes come true by premiering a brand new song titled “Do Your Worst”. Recorded with Erik Ron [Panic! At The Disco, Get Scared, Saosin], the track is a preview into the band’s highly-anticipated, long-awaited full length album that will be released in 2013 via Century Media Records. “This was the first time NYD had really ever made a real studio album,” explains vocalist Ash Costello. “After coming from recording songs in our bedroom, this was a huge step for us. ‘Do Your Worst’ was the song that most effortlessly came together and was one of the first tracks we wrote completely new during the recording process. No humans were harmed in the making of this song.. OK, well maybe a few were.” The digital single for “Do Your Worst” will be available tomorrow on iTunes, Amazon and other digital outlets.
