Seattle had a lucky day with little rain and some kick-a$$ music from bands, Overkill,
God Forbid, Suidakra, Diamond Plate, Three Chord Killer & Elks Blood.
But, before the show Litsa Olsson had the opportunity to interview Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth, vocalist for Overkill from their tour bus.
Overkill‘s tour manager took us to the tour bus and from the moment we walked on the bussit was like walking into the past, present, and future of thrash metal music history. I think most of the guys were on the bus just hanging out; Dave Linsk, Derek “The Skull” Tailer, D.D. Verni, and Ron Lipnicki (Blitz and Verni are two of the original guys from 1980).
We said “hi” to the guys, and then we were introduced to Blitz, who greeted us with a smile and handshake. “Lets go to the back of the bus,” he said. We followed, and took up residents for about 20 min. Oh, just about forgot. Blitz was being a courteous guy and offered us a beer!
Anyhow, Litsa had a lot of great questions and Blitz really opened up and talked about everything from his love of dogs to he and his wife’s fine European chocolate business.
