Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, the hour-long program airs throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.
-An in-depth look at Seahawks-Redskins, and how Seahawks QB Russell Wilson led Seattle to a playoff victory on the road. NFL Turning Point examines the play of Wilson and Seahawks TE Zack Miller. In addition, the segment examines Redskins QB Robert Griffin III, including his knee injury in the fourth quarter.
-NFL Turning Point also explores Colts-Ravens, and the franchise record setting day for Ravens WR Anquan Boldin. In addition, Ravens LB Ray Lewis was wired for sound during his final game at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. NFL Films breaks down the fourth quarter of the game, including Ravens QB Joe Flacco’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Boldin, which proved to be the turning point in the game.
-This week’s edition of NFL Turning Point also shines a spotlight on the Bengals-Texans AFC Wild Card game. The segment examines Texans RB Arian Foster as he rushed for his third straight 100-yard playoff game. NFL Films also reviews the final minutes of the game when Bengals QB Andy Dalton overthrew a crucial pass to WR AJ Green in the end zone.
Finally, NFL Turning Point looks at the NFC Divisional Playoff between the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers. NFL Films explores how San Francisco will match up against Green Bay without 49ers DE Justin Smith.
Each week NFL Turning Point is built around select NFL match-ups from the previous weekend, and focuses on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show features anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, Game-of-the-Week style narratives that includes the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.
This year, NBC Sports Network will air a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLVII.
