Seattle get set to be rocked by Todd La Torre and members of Queensryche at the Hard Rock Cafe June 8/9

There’s an old sound, but new band in town with familiar names and faces.  Members of Queensryche featuring Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield, and Parker Lundgren have teamed with Crimson Glory vocalist Todd La Torre to form Rishing West.

If you’ve longed for some old Queensryche with the vocal range that defined Queensryche since the beginning, then you’re in for a treat.  On June 8, and 9, the band will be performing songs from the early Queensryche era in Seattle, at the Hard Rock Café.

Does this spell the end for Queensryche as we know it?  Probably, but it’s not the end for Crimson Glory as La Torre put it. (quote obtained from Blabbermouth.net)

Just for the record and for those asking about Crimson Glory, I am NOT leaving CRIMSON GLORY, I am embarking on another musical endeavor with the members of Queensrÿche,” Todd wrote in an online posting last week. “I am proud and honored to be a part of this! Crimson Glory is still writing new material for our record, DO NOT WORRY This is going to be an amazing new chapter.

He added, “The media and ‘fans’ can be quite brutal, but I would like to say thank you for all of your amazing support.

I have nothing but respect for what Geoff Tate has done to the genre. His voice is still amazing. The only thing that is constant is change. I hope the fans of Queensrÿche, and I’m one of them, will continue to show respect for him and all he has accomplished.

It’s sad to see things happen, but as La Torre said, the only constant is change.  And I say that change can sometimes be good.

I look forward to hearing Geoff Tate’s solo project and new material from Queensryche err I mean Rising West this summer.
