Friday afternoon in Seattle wasn’t a typical day for two reasons. One, it wasn’t raining, and two, was the return of UFC of Fox.
Maybe it was the no rain that brought the hordes of fans out for the 4PM/PT weigh-in for Saturday nights fight, but I’m thinking it was the tremendous amount of fight talent that is on the fight card. And among those talents are two fighters who roots tied to the Seattle area. Ramsey Nijem lived in Mill Creek for a stint, and World Lightweight Champion, Benson Henderson who grew up in Federal Way will be defending his title against a dangerous opponent in Nate Diaz.
All the fighters looked to be prime condition and ready to fight. Some however didn’t meet their weight at the weigh-in, and had just a couple of hours to drop those extra pounds or ounces to meet their weight-class.
All-in-all, the afternoon was intensely satisfying for everyone who attended, and only made the anticipation for the December 8, fight night that much more extreme.
