The Moody Blues

In the 60’s America saw an influx of British music which has indelibly been marked “The British Invasion” and one of those band that invaded the North American Continent was none-other-than The Moody Blues.

Since the release of their debut album in 1965, The Moody Blues have been playing and writing their style of music decade after decade into the 2000’s when they released their first holiday/Christmas CD in 2003.  On a side note, The Moody Blues came out with a concept album (1967) long before Queensryche ever did.

Justin Hayward, John Lodge, and Graeme Edge; The Moody Blues, will be playing at the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville, WA under yet another hot summer day.  I couldn’t get an interview with these guys but I’ll be doing my best to bring you some great photos to look at after the show- and for me, I can’t wait to hear classics like; Nights In White Satin and  Tuesday Afternoon.The_Moody_Blues-1751The_Moody_Blues-4404The_Moody_Blues-4505The_Moody_Blues-1877

Well, when I pulled up to the venue the temp. outside the car read 106!  When is the heat going to cool down around here?  Anyhow, the winery had the people sprinklers going, and it in a way reminded me of perhaps Woodstock or something like that.  In fact, I’d image there may have been some people at the Moody Blues concert that night who were in attendance at Woodstock; only this time is wasn’t LSD or pot, it was wine and cheese in a picnic basket.

The concert was to start at 7:00 p.m., but there was no way those guys in the band were going to come out of the air-conditioned motorcoaches into the heat of the sun.   Needless to say, the show started a little later than advertised but I don’t think anyone really did mind because they were enjoying the atmosphere (minus the brutal heat).

Once things got underway though I was thankful to start shooting the show so I could hurry and relax with an ice cold water.  (more to come later…)
