It’s finally here, and I’ve seen it- Michael Jackson’s last performance on stage filmed for his own documentation and personal library. Don’t think of this as a movie, but literally a documentation put together as a last stage performance for the world to see.
This film gives us a view of what would have been one of the top live performance by anyone living or otherwise in many decades, and would have put the King Of Pop back on top. His enthusiasm and hard work ethics shown as did his love for his craft and the people around him.
This nearly two hour movie chronicles the last months and days of rehearsals for the 50 sold-out shows in London, England which would never happen due to his untimely death. There was no trickery, no slight of hand, only talent, determination and vision to give fans what they have been lacking and waiting for in a performer. I can’t say that I’d spend upwards of $200 to watch a performer, but had Jackson planned a show in the USA, and had I known what was in store, I would have paid well over $200 to see what he said would be his last performances.
If you do decide, and I hope you do; go with the knowledge that this film is about a man giving it all for all to enjoy. His two favorite three word phrases always seem to be, “God Bless You,” and “I Love You”… This is it, now go and live, love, and enjoy because you only have a limited two week period in which to enjoy this film on the big screen.
