Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinnie Appice; collectively known as Heaven and Hell showed everyone what it takes to have longevity in an ever changing world of music.
It amazing and electrifying seeing these guys come out on stage and sound the say they did, and one thing was certain, Dio was was relaxed and having the time of his life.
I’ve seen him perform as Dio years ago, and although he was great back then, his attitude on stage was that of a snob. Not so much anymore, with his seemingly new found joy for performing, he was most excellent to watch as he moved from one side of the stage to the other.
In support of their recently released album, “The Devil You Know” the ten track record showcases each members strength and as I said before, solidifies the reason these guys are still around. Mind you, as a band they are realatively new, but as individual musicians they have been around for decades.
The new album with titles like “Atom And Evil”, “Bible Black”, and “Double The Pain” may lead you to think that is about devil worship, but reading some of the lyrics I come away thinking this is more about lies and truths, and personal demons.
